Part-time SOC Analyst

A SOC Analyst is a dedicated professional who monitors, investigates, reports, and responds to security threats in client networks.  NOTE: this position is rotational, split between three different shifts.

•     IDS monitoring
•     Incident detection and response
•     Information assurance
•     Computer security best practices
•     System hardening
•     Vulnerability, antivirus and firewall management
•     TCP/IP network traffic and event log analysis.
•     SSL-VPN and IPSEC
•     Two-factor authentication
•     Windows and Linux, preferably strong in both operating systems
•     Cisco-based firewalls and intrusion detection systems
•     Windows 2003-08, 2012 server platforms
•     Common databases
•     VMware and VM server platforms
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
•     Observe, investigate, and report on security related events
•     Analyze IANA assigned ports (well known, registered, dynamic and private ports)
•     Recognize network attack patterns
•     Analyze vulnerability scan results
•     Troubleshoot common network devices
•     Summarize security events and communicate effectively with MS Office products

Minimum Education and Certifications
  • The following certifications (more than one is preferred): Lunarline, Inc. School of Cyber Security “Certified Expert” certifications, Security+, CEH, Network+, CAP, or SANS security certification
