HR/Recruiting Intern

The internship will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain experience in a very fast-paced, small business environment.  We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to work directly with the Recruiting and Human Resources Departments.  This person MUST have an eye for excellence; every detail matters.  We are passionate about our customer delivery; we are TEAM-centric; we want someone joining our team with that passion and drive!
Duties and Responsibilities  
  • Provide updates to HR and Recruiting forms and other documentation to streamline and enhance the user experience
  • Maintain job boards and social media appearance
  • Maintain complete and accurate staffing documentation as required by law
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, social media and internet sites; providing company information, opportunities, and benefits
  • Assists with logistics for job fairs, open houses and other company initiatives
  • Studying of job description and job qualifications against SOW’s and then develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Research the latest HR/Recruiting best practices and provide improvement recommendations at team meetings
  • Spend time observing and learning about employee relations and other major human resources functions
  • Assist with preparing for new hire orientations
  • Maintain basic knowledge of legal federal and state regulations affecting human resources functions to ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Developing an understanding of different departments
  • Scanning documents and maintaining SharePoint tracking
Required Skills/ Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe/PDF (particular to creating forms using developer or other design features)
  • Demonstrated good judgment and confidentiality required
  • Strong internet and social media skills required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service orientation required
  • Excellent time management, follow-through and organizational skills required
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
Preferred Skills/ Qualifications 
  • Pursing a degree with a Human Resources focus is preferred
