Junior Software Engineer

Lunarline is looking for a Junior Software Engineer. The Junior Software Engineer must be adaptable, resilient, and motivated. We are looking for someone who can help build and maintain software applications with a variety of purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the products team in meeting deadlines for deliverables.
  • Help update and maintain code for in-house applications.
  • Effectively complete a high volume of production tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Take any requested changes, updates or feedback in stride while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Work with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
  • Be comfortable in an environment where priorities can shift and collaboration is critical to success.
  • Add creative, relevant input to projects and can explain their thought process.
 
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Good familiarity with NodeJS, Python, and/or C#.
  • Knowledge of computer science concepts such as object-oriented programming, and ability to apply these concepts in multiple languages.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (especially MongoDB)
  • Knowledge of web application development (Express servers, etc.)
  • Good familiarity with Linux command line.
  • Ability to research and learn new languages and techniques as necessary.
  • Able to work well independently and part of a small team.
  • Preferred experience with programming for cloud services (Azure, AWS).
  • Preferred experience with web scraping for open source intelligence.
  • Preferred experience with ElasticSearch.
 
Minimum Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or an Associate’s degree in computer science or related field and 1-2 years experience.
  • Certifications preferred: Lunarline, Inc. School of Cybersecurity “Certified Expert” certifications
