Vulnerability Scanning Specialist

Lunarline is seeking an experienced Vulnerability Scanning Specialist to perform scans on 4,000 host devices. This program is composed of ongoing annual, monthly, and periodic Ad Hoc or Emerging Threat scans.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Coordinate with approximately 500 unique units’ IT staff to schedule and pre­pare for recurring security scans of assets physically located at the IDCs.
  • Use client tools and websites to identify IDC servers and server locations to review this data with unit IT staff in preparation for recurring, Ad Hoc, and / or Emerging Threat scanning events.
  • Use Tenable Security Center Continuous View (Nessus) to schedule scans according to unit staff’s day / time preferences.
  • Generate and provide Basic Risk Reports (BRRs) via email for all servers scanned during recurring, Ad Hoc, and / or Emerging Threat scanning events.
  • Perform remediation scans and provide BRRs.
  • Prepare Residual Risk Reports (R3s) (for release by government personnel) for unit Executives for all systems scanned during recurring, Ad Hoc, or emerging Threat scanning events.
  • Maintain a record of systems scanned and reports sent in the government-provided SQL database.
  • Experience with scans using Tenable Security Center Continuous View (Nessus) or other vulnerability scanning tools
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting or in automating routine tasks.
  • Experience with MS Windows and Linux common vulnerabilities, patching, and sys­tem administration.
  • Knowledge of report writing through Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services in creating required and ad-hoc reports.
Advanced Skills/Qualifications desired:
  • Experience with PowerShell programming
  • Experience in Database Administration
  • Knowledge of or experience using Symantec Endpoint Protection
Minimum Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • The following certifications (more than one is preferred): Lunarline, Inc. School of Cybersecurity “Certified Expert” certifications.
